Robert ‘Bobby’ Singer, until his demise, had been an essential character in the lives of Winchester boys. He was like a father figure to them, probably knew more about Supernatural more than anyone the Winchesters met( Pre-Season 4). Bobby Singer’s first appeared in the Devil’s Trap and has been a fan favourite since then. But Bobby wasn’t supposed to be an essential character. It all came out of the blue. Fun fact: John Winchester was also supposed to be a 1 episode(Pilot) guest too.
Even though it came out of the blue, fans still adore Bobby Singer’s name. But he wasn’t supposed to be in Supernatural, at all. Actually, Loretta Devine (Missouri Moseley) was not available for the show that time due to some personal problems. The Winchesters needed someone to aid them with all the Supernatural knowledge and Missouri Moseley was supposed to be the one to do it. But because she was not available, they had to cast in Jim Beaver.
