Yes, Jensen Ackles in Marvel! You saw the right thing.
Now, If you have watched Supernatural, then there’s no chance of this possibility that you don’t know this Texas born guy, Jensen Ackles.
Jensen Ackles appears as Dean Winchester on the CW show Supernatural alongside Jared Padalecki, his on-screen brother and offscreen best friend. It all began with the episode, “Pilot” in 2005. Now it’s 2020 and season 15 is going on.
Well, Jensen Ackles is a charming dude for the fans since he began acting in the mid-90s. But it’s his starring role in the longest-running CW series Supernatural as Dean Winchester why he is a major star. His talent, good looks, and sarcastic personality makes him impossible not to like.
He has a huge fan following. Probably the most from the series. But, not all of his fans know that he could’ve played two legendary Marvel characters in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
If you don’t happen to be a huge fan of either Jensen Ackles or Marvel, you probably had no idea that he auditioned for the role of Captain America. And according to many websites, he was short-listed for the superhero. Different sources, on the other hand, claim that Marvel Studios really wanted Jensen Ackles to be a part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe that they offered him the role of Hawkeye.
Yet, Ackles was quick to turn down the part due to scheduling conflicts with his TV series Supernatural. Thus, the role of Hawkeye went to Jeremy Renner. It is questionable whether Ackles was truthful about why he turned down the part.
Surely, if his schedule allowed him to take on the role of Captain America, he could have just as easily taken on the role of Hawkeye. Or maybe Ackles just did not take the role because of his devotion towards Supernatural.
Now, it is obvious that starring in a marvel movie makes you a bigger star than what you are. It could’ve been a career changing decision for Ackles. But again, he’s Jensen, he’s always right. Can you just imagine, our macho Dean Winchester as either Hawkeye or Captain America. Oh, I prefer Hawkeye.
