Is a ‘Secret Warriors’ project really being developed at Marvel Studios? Find out:
Remember Fury’s Secret Warriors? Yeah, well, the news of a future Secret Warriors project’s been swirling all around the internet. Even though they already did an animated series, but perhaps, it’s bigger this time.
Recently, during Disney’s Q2 earning’s call, Chairman Bob Iger confirmed that development work on the studio side has continued despite the shutdown over the Coronavirus Pandemic. Future projects are in development, and post-production on Disney+ shows is continuing.
This means that not everything is down, some things are actually in development.
According to GWW, Secret Warriors is in the early stages of development, with Marvel Studios currently in search of a writer for the project. There is also no word on whether Secret Warriors will be a feature film or a Disney+ series.
The first comic book iteration of the Secret Warriors was formed by former S.H.I.E.L.D. director Nick Fury.
Well, Fury recognized that Earth’s invaded by alien sleeper agents hidden among the society. Fury assembled a team of Secret Warriors to defend it. Their recruit were a varied lot.
Fury chose them not only for their competence, but also for their relative anonymity. Nick knew that obscure heroes would be ones least likely to be targeted for replacement by the Skrulls.
It featured the offspring of various superheroes and villains. The team’s meant to be Fury’s secret weapon against the evils that threaten the Marvel Universe.
The first team consisted of Quake, Phobos, Yo Yo Rodriguez, Hellfire, Sebastian Druid and Stonewall, with the first comic run coming in 2009. A second team formed in 2017 and featured Inhumans Quake, Ms. Marvel, Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur, Inferno and Karnak, with X-Men member Magik joining near the end of the run.
Now that the Marvel Universe is expanding, I personally predict that it’s going to be way bigger than the animated series. But, you never know!
